This is an introductory course in which you will learn the basics of handling a craft with either a single or double-bladed paddle.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim is to provide you with\u00a0the basic strokes you need to move your boat in the desired direction.\u00a0 You will also learn\u00a0basic safety skills, so that you can exit your craft safely should you capsize. The course will include things you should know about paddling on water such as what to wear and why as well as where you can paddle and what you should ask before joining a group on the water.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve done your Discover, come and take part on the Sunday sessions so you can get more experience on the river and maybe do some easy trips on flat water.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course runs from 6.30pm-8.30pm,Wednesday evenings during August 2026. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This 6 hour course is split over 3\u00a0 August Wednesday evenings of which 4 evenings are available:\u00a0 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th <\/span><\/strong>(You must attend 3 of the 4 evenings to complete this course)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need your normal paddling kit and a packed lunch and dry clothes to change into afterwards. The club will be open to lend boats, paddles and all other equipment that you may need<\/span><\/p>\n
